When we meet for the first time I will explain what you can expect during the home buying experience. I will also explain what you can expect from me and what things you will need to do. The process can be complicated and it is important that we both understand each other. The relationship between a Home Buyer and Agent must be based on trust, mutual goals, and understanding.
We will discuss the role of a Buyer's Agent and the type of representation you get. A Buyer's Agent is retained by a buyer to look out for the buyer's best interest and to negotiate the best price from the buyer's point of view. Just as the Seller's Agent represents the seller's best interest. A Buyer's Agent has the sole responsibility of being loyal to you and helping you make an informed buying decision.
During our first visit we will discover your wants and needs. It has been my experience that once you know what kind of house appeals to you that it allows me to be much more effective in finding your ideal home. The home should fit your lifestyle, and the spaces and features should fit the needs of your family. Before we begin looking for your new home we will make a list of your priorities - things like location and size. Is it important to be near a school? …Your job? …Golf course? …Do you want a pool? Exactly what things are must haves?
Together we will create a list of minimum requirements and a "wish list". Minimum requirements are those things necessary for you and your family to be happy with your new home. "Wish list" things are nice to have but not absolutely essential. By going through this process I can help you avoid costly mistakes by helping you determine what exactly you are looking for.
